Tony Stark lies in the crash-landed wreckage of the first Iron Man suit.
Tony’s prototype or proof of concept proved that the engineering behind the Iron Man suit was a feasible product. He became first “customer” when he used it to aid in escape from terrorist captors. Soon after, he realized that there was a larger audience with an unexpressed need that he and the suit could fulfill: The public needed a hero.
His less than altruistic business partner recognized a different market that would probably pay in cash rather than adoration and celebrity – the military. A fight for the IP of the suit ensued pitting each mans brains and brawn against each other. The victor being the man with not only the best product, but the best competitive strategy.
